4 options to visit:
1) Horseback Riding Expedition
This outing through the Río Caterina Valley is open to all riders. The mountains and lagoons will lead us to Lago Pearson, where we will rest at the hut and revel in the freedom this wild immensity provides. When we return to the estancia, if the schedule permits, we will visit the Pioneer History Museum before boarding the catamaran back to Puerto Punta Bandera.
2) Trekking Expedition
In a small group, we will head off in a 4×4 vehicle for 9.5 km, climbing through the Feruglio mountain range to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Lago Guillermo, where our 4 1⁄2 hour hike begins. We will visit Glaciar Upsala’s privileged land-based lookout point and walk down the eroded trails with exposed fascinating marine fossils.
3) Upsala Glaciar Lookout
On this all-encompassing expedition, we will ride in 4×4 vehicles across the Patagonian landscapes to reach the privileged lookout point over the Campo de Hielo Patagónico Sur and Glaciar Upsala. When we return to the Estancia, there will be time to visit the museum, the main lodge and its surroundings.
4) Classic Expedition
Wilderness hike: we will hike uphill towards Cascada de Los Perros along the semi-arid ecotone, reaching hidden spots that reveal the landscape from Lago Argentino to Lago Pearson.
Historical hike: The expedition continues along Río Caterina, past the Noria, and to the chapel near Estancia Cristina. We will also visit the Museum that recounts the pioneers’ history in this remote land.
